Today at Flamboro Downs team Davis (trainer Bill Snr and leading driver Billy Jnr.) paired up in the $12,000 feature winning with Martha Maxine for BC owners Jeff & Debbie Elchuk in a 1.55.1 mile in snowy conditions.

Young driver Billy Davis Jnr has nearly racked up 50 wins for the new year and leads all drivers.

Jan 9th

Fraser Downs Sunday feature the $12,500 Mares Open saw Art Of Arts winning ahead of Mystic Maiden (J Currie) & Jennas Pass (K Clark) for trainer/driver Dave McKellar.

McKellar had Art Of Arts positioned in 4th place till the 3/4 before pulling out to get dragged along by Mystic Maiden and overtaking them all in the stretch drive to win in 1.55.3.

Friday night racing at Fraser Downs featured the $12,500 Open and it was a patient drive by trainer/driver Dave McKellar who had Garden Gate Ll well positioned in 3rd place through the first half mile before moving away from the fence at the 3/4 and finished strongly down the outside to win comfortably ahead of Nobody Can (J Marino) and Stop Calling (J Hudon) getting up for 3rd.

Billy Davis Jr continues his hot driving form from last year grabbing 5 winners at Georgian Downs last night, he'd scored a win earlier in the day at Flamboro Downs.

BC owners Jeff & Debbie Elchuk scored again at Flamboro Downs Friday night with Got The Munchies (Billy Davis Jr) for trainer Bill Davis.

Today at Fraser Downs Jean Gagne opened the new year with a driving Grand Slam on the afternoon card with Jim Marino also starting his new year on a positive note scoring a driving triple.

The Open mares pace was a very tight affair with Just Fiction (J Marino) holding out Legal Suspensory ahead of the deadheaters Mystic Maiden and Jans Rich Girl with only a head and a half length separating the top 4 finishers in the $12,500 feature event.

Just Fiction recently grabbed a 3rd in her Northlands filly pace attempt at Northlands Park prior to Christmas and she carried that form into her first start as a 4yr old scoring with a late closing burst to win todays feature race.

Dec 30th

Tonight at Fraser Downs it was the 2 Daves hogging all the limelight both Dave Hudon & Dave McKellar scoring trainer/driver triples for their efforts.

Dave McKellar driving Red Star Governor, A Midnight Promise & Garden Gate Ll to victories with Dave Hudon driving Chica Caliente, Jay Force & Alotta Crackers to wins.

Young driver Billy Davis Jr scored his Grand Slam at Flamboro Downs to reach his 400th winner on the season with one day to spare.

Dec. 29th

Former BC young gun driver Billy Davis Jr is running white hot at the moment as he won 5 times yesterday at Flamboro and Georgian Downs and added another 6 at Flamboro Downs in todays afternoon card only to take that hot form into tonights Woodbine card to grab a Grand Slam.

Davis has certainly developed into a top quality driver and I'm sure he'll become one of the best in the country and perhaps challenge the Jody Jaimesons in the near future to be Canadas best driver!.

Davis currently has 396 wins on the season with 2 days left to hit the 400 win mark although he has already had a career year, he has 21 drives over the next 2 days.

Dec 22nd

Sorry for not updating our news this past weekend but I did see the former BC driver Billy Davis Jr continue his strong form out East with his driving wins currently at 369 for the year seeing him 4th overall behind Jody Jamieson on 440 wins in 3rd place, Scott Coulter who has 450 wins occupy's 2nd place and it is Scott Zeron who continues to lead with 531 wins so far.

Kieth Clark sits 3rd overall nationwide in the training rankings with 172 winners for the season and 3rd in URS with a winning percentage of .376 average.

Tonight at Woodbine racetrack Cactus Jack (JB Campbell) was a winner for his Alberta owner Jim Vb Macphail of Calgary, AB winning in 1.52.3 in tonights final race.
